| 1.
Florianópolis, or Floripa as it is more commonly known, is a fantastic place, a vibrant mix of the best Brazil offers.
The capital of the State of Santa Catarina, one of Brazil's wealthiest per capita states, Florianópolis is modern and cosmopolitan yet enchanting and rustic at the same time. It is one of the most popular destinations in Brazil, also called “The Magic Island” due to its unique combination of superb beaches, a unique culture, beautiful scenery, and a cosmopolitan mix of people. It is one of the few destinations in the world where the new and the old coexist harmoniously. Blessed with tremendous natural beauty, the city also offers agitated (particularly in the South American vacation season of December through March) beaches and tourism infrastructure, excellent dining and nightlife, first-world shopping options, as well as untouched pristine nature preserves and charming little fishing villages. The island has 42 main beaches (each with a distinct neighborhood and personality surrounding it, so truly something for everyone), innumerable parks, natural reserves, squares, large lagoons, sand dunes, and much more.

Floripa City Tour
The Ilha da Magia (Island of Magic) is undoubtedly one of the most special cities in Brazil. Repeatedly elected the state capital that enjoys the best quality of life in the country, We will explore this city in details. |

|
Schooner Trip
The best way to know an island is by boat. You will visit an inspirational place for many songs and poems and countless love affairs, and special places where the sea, lagoon and vegetation meet in one place, with breathtaking views. |
Fishing Village Tour
(Oyster specialties)
This is the least developed part of the island, with the most wildlife. At Ribeirão da Ilha, in the southern bay area, the original Azorean colonists have left their most characteristic imprint; here their culture and architecture are still preserved today. The area is also famous for producing the best oysters in Brazil and possibly the best in the world; we won’t miss the chance to try this delicacy in situ. |
Jurere tour with Luau
We are going to visit and party in the most sophisticated part of the island. Organized, planned, safe, and clean, attracting many visitors who decide to become residents, due to the excellent quality of life. |
Fabulous
Food
The Latin American cuisine is
as varied as the people who live there. Brazil in particular,
with its huge variety of people and cultures will offer
you a sumptuous pallet of fresh fruits, the highest quality
meats and spices to thrill you. Your guide will make sure
that you leave Brazil saying “I’ve never eaten
so well in my life!” |
Shopping
in Floripa
is an amazing experience on several
levels. Find exquisite clothing, jewelry, shoes, bags,
and more at very reasonable prices. Complement what you
find in the stores with the local crafts to be found in
the outdoor markets, where you can talk to the people
who have made the products and come away with gifts you
know are one of a kind! |
and More...
There is so much
to see in Florianopolis that it is hard to choose what
to see, but trust your native guide. He will select the best
spots and restaurants, for you. |
About the island....
Open marketplaces with hand-made crafts, local
art boutiques, sprawling urban landscapes and of course
the famous sand beaches.
The inviting waves on beaches such as Joaquina have encouraged successive national and international surfing championships to be held here. Beaches such as Canasvieiras and Jurerê with hotels and sophisticated restaurants, compete with the rustic charm of beaches such as Campeche, Ponta dos Naufragados and Solidão.
Along the coast, a series of fortresses built to withstand invasion by the Spanish and Dutch during the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries are a relic from the colonization of the state. Amongst them are the Fortress of Santa Cruz on the Island of Anhatomirim, the Fortress of São José da Ponta Grossa between the beaches of Daniela and Jurerê, registered as Historical Heritage, and Santo Antônio, on the Island of Ratones Grande. In Pântano do Sul, also on the coast, is the capital's most authentic fishing village.
The centre of Florianópolis, with its alleys, rows of typical houses, churches and museums, contains many examples of colonial architecture. Amongst these are the former government palace, nowadays the Cruz e Souza Museum (which took its name from the famous poet from Santa Catarina who formed the symbolist movement) and the Public Market built in 1898 which sells food and local handicrafts under the shade of a one hundred year old fig tree. Close to the centre is the house where Victor Meirelles was born, one of the authors who devised the first mass spoken in Brazil. The building is registered by the Institute of Historical and Artistic Heritage and houses the Victor Meirelles Museum.
Capital of the State of Santa Catarina, it occupies the central third of Santa Catarina Island. The link to the mainland is made easily via two public bridges one of which is Brazil's largest suspension bridge. Florianopolis, or Floripa, has become one of the hottest tourist destinations in all of brazil with good reason. It is an immense mountainous island with more than 40 natural beaches. Known for the beauty of the local people the island attracts visitors from Argentina and Uruguay as well as Brazil.
There is a very large lagoon - Lagoa da Conceicao - in the middle of the island and a fresh water lake, Lagoa do Peri, in a municipal park right next to the ocean on the South end of the island. One can surf the waves on the beaches Brava, Mole, and Joaquina or surf the sand dunes next to Joaquina Beach. There is nude sunbathing also available on a more remote beach close to Galheta Beach.
Because the island is the home town of 3 time French Open Champion Gustavo Kuerten if you're a tennis fan you'll be sure to find good courts as it has become the center for tennis training in Brazil. Sun, surfing, dunes, beautiful natives, and mountains make this island one of the premiere tourist destinations in Brazil |
